Biography
Ms. Blackford has multiple years of experience working as a Registered Nurse. Nursing experience includes in-patient – medical/surgical care, intensive/cardiac care, cardiac rehabilitation, and outpatient - prenatal care, school nurse, short-term missionary nurse in Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Honduras prior to becoming Assistant Professor at Marian University School of Nursing. Preceding work included Hancock Regional Hospital; Shelby County Prenatal Clinic, Shelby Eastern Schools, Major Hospital, and Wishard Hospital. Additionally, Ms. Blackford serves as President of the Indiana Center for Parish Nurses Board of Directors, and a member of the Programs Committee for the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators organization. Spring 2013 served as a member of the Rotary Vocational Team presenting curriculum and assessment strategies to nursing faculty at Aga Khan University in Tanzania, Africa. Ms. Blackford has a BSN and MSN in Nursing and Certified as a Nurse Educator (CNE).
