Ms. Spangler currently serves as the Director of Bands, Assistant Professor of Music, and Chair of the Department of Performing Arts at Marian University.  She came to Marian University in July 2017 from the very successful Triton Central High School band program.  Under her direction the TC bands were a three time ISSMA marching band state finalist, earned consistent Gold ratings in concert band and jazz band, Indoor Percussion Ensemble State Champions, and qualified for the ISSMA All Music Award each year.  Ms. Spangler has spent twenty years teaching music in Indiana and has performed professionally across the country with the Indianapolis Saxophone Quartet.

During her twenty years as a high school band director she spent nearly half of those teaching in the inner city. Under her direction she was able to grow the highly successful Shortridge Magnet High School band program.  She has been a clinician and guest conductor throughout the area many times and also served as the Visual Caption Head for the Indianapolis Ignition.  Ms. Spangler also currently serves as the Music Design Caption Head for Asteria Winds, sponsored by The Blue Stars.

Ms. Spangler earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Butler University in 1998 and 2002, respectively.  She is currently completing her Doctor of Arts in Music Education at Ball State University.  Ms. Spangler is a member of the Indiana Wind Symphony, Indianapolis Saxophone Quartet, Pi Kappa Lambda, Indiana Bandmasters Association, CBDNA, IMEA, and NAfME.  Ms. Spangler also serves as the faculty sponsor for the Marian University cNAfME chapter.
