Welcome Week
The Marian University campus community celebrates the start of a new academic year by welcoming new and returning students back to campus with a week of fun events and activities.
Our team is hard at work planning our 2022 Welcome Week events and activities! In July, we will publish our full 2022 schedule and share with our incoming students. Welcome Week will begin Friday, August 19, 2022.
New Student Convocation
- Friday, August 19, 3:00 p.m.
Arena & Convocation Center
Attending convocation is a tradition for all new students. It is our induction ceremony where you will officially become a Knight! Families are welcome and livestreaming will be available for families unable to join in person. We ask that students dress business casual for this event. - President's Reception, 4:30 p.m.
Alumni Hall & Outdoor Tent
Immediately following convocation, head over to Alumni Hall for our President's reception, where you'll have the opportunity to meet and greet with our university leadership, faculty, and fellow incoming students and families. Parents and families are invited!

- First KNIGHT Carnival
Friday at 9:00 p.m., Franciscan Heritage Fountain
Music, carnival games, prizes, snacks, and more! Kick off the year with a night of fun and meeting new people.
- Target Takeover
Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
Get all the supplies you need to start the school year. A free shuttle will depart regularly from Doyle Hall. The last shuttle will depart campus at 9:30 p.m. Join us for pizza, raffle prizes, and more.
- Outdoor Movie Night
Saturday at 9:30 p.m., Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater
Join us for an outdoor movie at the amphitheater.
- President’s Ice Cream Social
Sunday at 8:00 p.m., Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater
Enjoy fellowship and frozen treats.
- Back to School Bingo
Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., Alumni HallLoad up on school supplies and other prizes with some fun games of Bingo.
- Root Beer Kegger
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., Caito-Wagner Hall
Get a cold drink and play some yard games at this annual event hosted by the Office of Residential and Commuter Life.
- The Big Event
Thursday at 7:00 p.m., Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater
Hosted by the Office of Campus Ministry, The Big Event is an opportunity for all students to enjoy some live bands, free t-shirts, and food truck treats.
- Coffee House
Friday at 7:00 p.m., Alumni HallCheck out one of Marian University’s favorite events sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. Each Coffee House will feature a band/musician or professional performer.
